EXPERIENCE

Ignacio Marroquín Sagalés, Managing Partner at Marroquín Abogados, has had an extensive career since 1985 in the areas of Civil Law, Real Estate, Urban Planning, Litigation, and Insolvency Law. A Law graduate from UAB and holder of a Diploma in Corporate Law from ESADE, he has been recognised by Chambers Europe and Best Lawyers as one of the leading lawyers in Insolvency and Restructuring Law. He has been appointed in numerous technically complex insolvency proceedings and has advised major national companies facing insolvency situations. In addition, he has wide-ranging experience in all types of proceedings before civil and administrative courts.

Ignacio also teaches on law master’s programmes and has contributed to publications and specialist forums in the field of insolvency law.

ACADEMIC AND TEACHING CONTRIBUTIONS

He has taught Insolvency Law in the Master’s Degree in Legal Practice organised annually by the Instituto Superior de Derecho y Economía de Barcelona (I.S.D.E.), as well as in the Legal Practice Courses of the Barcelona Bar Association (ICAB).

He has collaborated on and contributed to legal publications on Civil Procedure, including “Formularios de la Ley de Enjuiciamiento Civil” (Ed. Difusión Jurídica y Temas de Actualidad S.A., 2000) in the ECONOMIST & JURIST Legal Journal, and “La Nueva Ley Concursal” (2003) by the same publisher.

He also participated as a speaker at the 5th Aranzadi Insolvency Forum – Barcelona 2019, organised by THOMSON REUTERS.
